I’m a proud Yorkshireman, currently living in the beautiful city of Munich, Germany. I find happiness in discovering the passions of other people and translating it into beautifully functional brand identity designs.
I have a collective 5 years of post-graduate experience as a designer working from a range of perspectives. Be that as a studio designer, in-house at a global travel brand or as a 'pen for hire'. It’s this experience coupled with my tried and tested design process that enables me to create engaging and relevant brands.
It’s not enough for me to simply turn up. I love to design with a smile on my face, coffee in-hand and a joke or two in my back pocket.
No bullshit, just be yourself. I try to emulate this attitude within the work I produce for brands and my day-to-day approach to life. I consider myself very lucky to be able to pursue my craft for a living, as I have so much fun being a designer!
Collaboration is a fundamental value that I’m proud to live by. Helping a friend, colleague or even a client out can a long way in building relationships, I never underestimate the value of being friendly and helpful.
What’s that saying? “all work and no play makes Joey a dull boy”. It takes a great deal of passion and hard work to set your creativity alight. Balancing a healthy working life with other passions enables me to give my all to the projects I do work on. I bring 100% passion to the projects I tackle, unless I’ve yet to have coffee, then please don’t talk to me.
Eight years ago I was designing £50 logos whilst studying, this gave my first taste of the design world. I love working with clients to understand their unique mission and express this through a singular mark or logotype, it gives me a unique sense of purpose.
Translating the principles of a company or product into a simple but expansive identity design is my greatest passion (professionally speaking). I love to explore a company through a visual medium and help to define a unique voice and place in the world.
From bloomin’ big billboards to super-small stickers, and everything in-between, I’ve designed them. Expanding a brand identity from the initial design into all of these executions is what makes a brand ‘feel alive’.
